Mark Selby beats Ronnie O'Sullivan to win first World Championship



Mark Selby Dedicate his title to his late father, who died of cancer in 1999.

Mark Selby staged a remarkable comeback to beat defending champion Ronnie O'Sullivan 18-14 in the final of the World Championship in Sheffield.

The Leicester-based player, 30, beat defending champion Ronnie O'Sullivan 18-14 to become new world number one. 

He also said :
"To beat Ronnie O'Sullivan in the final to win my first World title is a dream come true."

Five Time Champion, Ronnie paid a tribute to Selbyafter losing at the crucible for the first time since 2011 and first time in the final. Ronnie said:
"I tried my hardest but he was too good, I've had some great victories here but losing is a part of the sport. I'll go away, lick my wounds and come back and try to be one better next time."
