Xbox 360 Special Edition Arctic Camouflage Wireless Controller

Microsoft has been known to release special limited edition versions of its Xbox 360 controllers in the past, including one to promote the new Tomb Raider game in 2013 and others that had a chrome colored shine. This week, the company unveiled its latest such product, which has a "cool" art design.

The limited edition wireless controller features an "arctic camouflage" art design, which makes it look like it's been created for use in winter conditions. Microsoft's description of the product says, with a straight face, that's it's been "designed for covert operations".

Leaving that rather odd statement behind, it's still a little strange that Microsoft is launching an "arctic" gamepad for the Xbox 360 when we are so close to entering the summer months, but maybe it's being released to give gamers an appearance of being "cool" while playing games in much warmer temperatures.

In any case, the "arctic camouflage" variant of the Xbox 360 controller is otherwise identical to the regular version of the gamepad. Microsoft will begin selling the controller to the masses later in June for the price of $54.99, which is $5 more than the regular gamepad.
